| Users review: As I flip through the hundreds of comments that readers have sent messages to the faithful to IMDB this movie, I find it very interesting how few, halfway No comments. Everyone likes him, or hate him. After seeing Apocalypse Now about 30 times, and after recently dissected in DVD (as ever lived without these magical digital cameras?), I can say without hesitation that I'm one of those people who have , m one in my heart for this movie. Why do you want a film that is so confusing? ask many of my colleagues. The answer is this: forget the war, forget the brutality .... This is a classic story of the company to protect itself against those who refuse to fall in line with the status quo. Brando is the guy who has his own way of getting the job done. They (Big Brother) sent him to do the job, it is not so, without adhering to accepted standards of death and destruction (I'm the only one who is concerned with the fact that we have patterns of death and destruction?) So the shelter to send the police to remove the individual. Hmmmmmm .... draw any parallels between this and the things you see every day? With the deepest respect for Mr. Coppola, I think it's one of the best directors of all time, think beyond his original intention of the film, and probably not even realize it until after the film was released. The sub-text that permeates the thin film has too much and it was designed to portray the other hand, seems to have developed as a wild flower in the middle of a garden. Again I must reiterate: I think FF Coppola has done an excellent job of all this production, as well as the cast and crew, but the film goes beyond the sum of individual efforts tenfold. So if you have not seen the movie, rent it, watch it, then watch it again, and maybe a couple of times, and try all the generic parallel to everyday life. Only then make a judgment about the quality of the film. Those of you who have not seen it, watch it again with the mindset described above. I think you may just have a new appreciation for the movie. Or maybe not! Whether you love it or hate it, be sure and give credit to Coppola for his masterful narrative style! |
